A 37-year-old Saint-Martinois, homeless, was fatally mowed down on the sidewalk by a vehicle probably speeding, last Tuesday, around 21:30 p.m., at the intersection of rue de Hollande and Concordia ( opposite the premises of the Border Police). Just after the terrible shock, the driver fled. Very quickly, the Samu and the firefighters, warned by the witnesses, arrived on the scene. They provided care and attempted to revive the victim. In vain. the person died on site at 22 p.m. Thanks to the video surveillance system, the gendarmes were able to identify the (French) license plate of the vehicle.
