This Tuesday, August 22 at 7:40 am, the Sint Maarten police intervened for a serious accident on the Old Cake House road leading to Cole Bay.
According to initial findings, a gray vehicle traveling on this section last Tuesday morning left the road in circumstances unknown at this stage of the investigation. The driver of the car failed to negotiate a series of left turns resulting in loss of control of the vehicle. The latter left the road and flew over the embankment, finally coming to rest in the dense bushes several meters below. The incident required rapid and immediate action by the emergency services and the police. Firefighters managed to extricate a man and a woman from the crashed vehicle. Both victims sustained face and leg injuries in the crash. First aid was administered to the victims at the scene. After deeming their condition stable, the emergency services transported the two injured to the Sint Maarten medical center for full treatment.
