Amuseum Naturalis: launch of the new exhibition


On the theme “Women, people of color, and the study of natural history in the Caribbean”, the association Les Fruits de Mer invites the population to the launch of its new exhibition this Tuesday from 16 p.m. to 20 p.m. Amuseum Naturalis, located at 96 boulevard de Grand-Case. Created by museum co-curator Jenn Yerkes, this exhibition will give you the opportunity to discover “the pioneers of the natural sciences in the Caribbean, from the 1400s to the early 1900s”, according to the association . Among these naturalists, Catalina de Ayahibex, a chief of the 15th century Taino tribe, expert on native plants, and Maria Sibylla Merian (1647-1717), a scientific artist known for her expedition to Suriname.
