Call for a general and unlimited strike on Saint-Martin from April 11th!

The trade unions SUD PTT GWA, FO, UNSA, FSU, SPEG, CGTG, UGTG and the collective Soualiga United filed Wednesday, April 3, a notice for an unlimited call to strike as of April 11 in the territory of Saint-Martin !

This notice includes a long list of recipients: the Prefect of Guadeloupe, the Prefect delegated to the Islands of Saint-Barthélemy and Saint-Martin, the president of the territorial council of Saint-Martin, the president of the CTOS, the regional director of La Poste , the regional director of Pôle Emploi, the rector of the Academy of Guadeloupe, the director of the EHPAD Bethany Home, the director of the Louis-Constant Fleming hospital, the director of the Grand-Case Beach Club hotel and the manager of the Mercure hotel.

Their claims are diverse. They claim indeed:

• “the immediate settlement of the ongoing conflict at the COM and the CTOS

• the immediate opening of negotiations concerning the future of residents, staff and the construction of the medico-social center of nursing homes

• the elimination of complicated and abusive procedures for the reconstruction of Saint-Martin following hurricane Irma

• matching training and job needs in the area

• the defense of the public service and the maintenance of all post offices in full operation

• the safety and standards of all schools in Saint-Martin

• the provision of classrooms in establishments allowing the reception of all students

• the end of co-intervention in colleges for lack of rooms

• the provision of a precise timetable for the reconstruction of the Soualiga college

• the reconstruction of the CDI of the vocational school for the next return

• the follow-up of the reconstruction works of educational establishments by the COM

• finalization of the work undertaken in educational establishments

• reconstruction of the media library

• the construction of sports equipment allowing all students to practice sports in accordance with regulatory texts

• compliance with the collective agreement for hotels to improve working conditions

• the fall in selling prices per m2  for land located in the area of ​​50 geometric steps

• no to expropriation ”
