The regional directorate of enterprises, competition, consumption, labor and employment (DIECCTE) of Guadeloupe has published its 2015 report on the labor market and employment policies for Guadeloupe and the Islands of North. “The situation on the labor market deteriorated further in 2015, at the slowest pace observed since 2007, however.” For Saint-Martin, the number of job seekers at Pôle Emploi (ABC categories) stood at 4.773 at the end of 2015. Six out of ten job seekers are women, notes the document specifying that older people are more and more affected by unemployment. Regarding the average length of overall registration with Pôle emploi, it is increasing regularly: at the end of 2015, the length of service reached 922 days, compared to 868 days in 2014. _EH
