Saint Martin celebratedthe move to the new year in the night from Monday to Tuesday!
The crowd coming to celebrate New Years Eve was gathered to party in the neighborhoods of Maho and Simpson Bay.
Maho still in reconstruction since Irma found yesterday evening the large attendance of formerly, the few reopened bars were crowded, musicians at the steps of the casino decorated with their musical notes the reigning festive atmosphere; onlookers, revelers, residents, tourists and families, young and old, all gathered to admire a spectacular fireworks display fired from Maho Bay.
Once the show ended the crowd dispersed to finish the evening in the bars and night clubs of the neighborhood or is simply going home!
Simpson Bay was not to be outdone in entertainment since, at the stroke of midnight, several fireworks were fired simultaneously by individuals or restaurants. Lovers of firecrackers and other explosives will not have deserved because it is under the background of firecracker noises that Simspon Bay returned to its night of festivities.
Saint Martin therefore said goodbye to 2018 and welcome to 2019, each cheerfully greeting the transition to the new year with wishes of health, wealth, joy and promises of good resolutions!
