Being a member of the Territorial Youth Council is a great opportunity to participate in the political life of the territory. You have only three days left to send your candidacy for the next election.
“We are looking for young adults between the ages of 14 and 25. This year, we opened the elections to out of school youth, but also to private school students, ”said Priscilla Bade, head of the COM's youth and sports service.
This 23-member advisory body, comprising a chairman and four vice-chairmen, was created in 2008. The board is renewed entirely every two years. “At the commune level, we already had a communal youth council. Then, the community wanted the youth to continue to be represented, ”she adds. The future elected will have the opportunity to shape their own council. “We don't want to impose a mode of operation on young people. They are asked to make suggestions. The council is a free space where they can express themselves, set up projects or actions ”, she mentions. Registrations (deadline September 30) can be made via Facebook: Territorial Council of Young People of Saint Martin.
