Five medals. This is the number of podiums won by the selection of the Shindokai club of Saint-Martin during the 2017 Coupe de France. This sports competition, organized by the French Karate Federation (FFKDA), the Shindokai France and the city of Nice saw 327 participants compete against each other from all over France but also from Spain, Italy, Germany, Poland and Iran, on March 11 and 12. Affiliated with the French Karate Federation, the Saint-Martin's Shindokai club is based at the Sandy Ground cultural center and has around XNUMX members. For his first participation in the Coupe de France he obtained third place in the final classification. “It's a great performance for the youngsters and a great advertisement for the island” comments coach Thierry Guedj, who won the gold medal in the veterans category.
