Covid-19: Everything you need to know about the new travel arrangements between overseas territories and France

0

The Overseas Ministry has announced new travel arrangements between Overseas and France, but also between the various overseas territories.

For passengers wishing to travel to an overseas territory

Travelers over the age of eleven must provide proof of a negative Covid 19 test carried out within 72 hours before boarding. This negative result is a guarantee of security: it is compulsory and will be requested upon boarding.

The passenger must also present a sworn statement that he has no symptoms and that he is not aware of having been in contact with a confirmed case of covid-19 in the XNUMX days preceding the flight.

As of July 18, the airline will refuse boarding to the passenger bound for an overseas territory which does not present one or the other of these documents.

In addition for passengers from France

Passengers bound for Guyana, Guadeloupe, Martinique, Saint-Martin, Saint-Barthélemy, Saint-Pierre-et-Miquelon, Réunion and Mayotte are no longer subject to a compulsory measure of quarantine upon arrival. However, the public authorities recommend that the persons concerned scrupulously respect barrier gestures, avoid public gatherings and busy public places, wear a mask during this period and be tested seven days after their arrival. These are important civic actions which make it possible to detect possible asymptomatic cases and to minimize the risks of the epidemic's spread.

For communities in the Pacific, specific rules, adopted by local authorities, apply in terms of health care.

In addition for passengers from Guyana or Mayotte

Travelers from or to these areas of active circulation of the virus continue to have to justify a compelling reason for travel.

The obligation to test before boarding is essential for passengers coming from Guyana and Mayotte, where the virus is actively circulating, and who go directly to another overseas territory where the virus does not circulate (case of Guyana - Antilles routes and Mayotte - Reunion).

Upon arrival, they may be prescribed by the prefect of the territory a quarantine measure (7 days) in order to further reduce the risk of contamination for people who could be in the incubation phase of the virus and therefore not detectable by the virological screening test. The quarantine measure consists of isolating oneself at home, protecting vulnerable people and their relatives, by refusing all contact and systematically using barrier gestures.

For passengers wishing to travel to France from an overseas territory

It is no longer necessary to justify a compelling reason to travel to the hexagon. Certain sanitary conditions remain, however, such as temperature control before boarding or wearing a mask in the terminal and on the plane.

Travelers must also complete a declaration of honor attesting that they are not suffering from Covid-19.

Special case for passengers from Mayotte and Guyana to France

Travelers from or to these areas of active circulation of the virus continue to have to justify a compelling reason for travel.

As part of the decree of July 10, 2020, the government has chosen not to impose a test before boarding for flights from Mayotte and Guyana and bound for France, in order not to saturate the testing capacities of these territories and not to further restrict travel between these territories and France.

In the absence of a test before boarding, a fortnight at home will be recommended to them upon arrival in France to protect their loved ones and their environment.
