On Thursday 12 December, the Territorial Delegation of the French Red Cross in Saint-Martin inaugurated the day reception center (LAJ) in its Concordia premises.

An inauguration took place in the presence of Frédéric Pichonnat, Overseas Director of the Red Cross, Ketty Karam, recently elected president of the Territorial Delegation of Saint Martin, volunteers of the Red Cross, as well as partners of the entity.

This day reception area is intended for anyone in a precarious situation and looking for social ties. The LAJ welcomes those people who are somewhat out of touch with society for free. This system complements mobile activities, such as day and night social marauding, carried out respectively by the mobile social intervention team and by volunteers from the Territorial Delegation of Saint-Martin. The main day care center has the main objective of preserving social integration, but also promoting the return to autonomy of vulnerable people.

A cloakroom, laundry, two shower rooms with mirror, sanitary facilities, one of which is accessible to people with reduced mobility, a kitchen area, as well as a reading corner, are available to people. The LAJ is also equipped with IT equipment, and activities and social support are offered to facilitate the process of social integration.

Managed by volunteers from the Red Cross of Saint Martin, the LAJ is open every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday from 8:30 am to 11:30 am, while every last Saturday of the month, breakfast is offered to beneficiaries by the Lion's Club . The LAJ is located in Concordia, 2 rue du Soleil Levant. _RM
