Culture: discovering Ignacio

In Marigot, teacher Joselyne Arnell presented to the press last Wednesday "Ignacio and the mysterious egg". Illustrated by his daughter, this book takes young readers into the world of a friendly iguana.

Joselyne Arnell has always loved writing. As a child, her grandfather used to tell her stories on full moon evenings. This ritual allowed him to "overcome a lot of difficulties" and "see life in a different way". Later, the author realized that stories could "transform a child's life" and "help him grow up". It was at the birth of her granddaughter that Joselyne Arnell started: determined to publish her first book, she then sent her story to a digital publishing house. “I was immediately put in contact with the youth service. The team encouraged me, guided me in writing. I have modified a few passages in the story to make it more accessible to children, ”she explains. “In history, this iguana will meet an egg, and he will then want to return it to its owner. At the end of the book, he will learn something that will transform his life, ”she adds. For the moment in English "Ignacio and the mysterious egg" is available online, notably on the Amazon.com site, and from next week in bookstores (20 euros). A signing session will soon be organized by the author.
