The collections organized on the island, in favor of Dominica, made it possible to collect a large number of articles. Update on the latest actions.
Jocelyne Berchel, director of social action for the Saint-Martin Red Cross regional delegation, announced that the collection at Super U at the start of the month was a success. The volunteers received 50 boxes of food, 6 boxes of cleaning and hygiene products and 4 bags of clothing and shoes. These packages were handed over last Friday to the association “We Can Give” in order to be sent to Dominica by the Red Cross of Sint Maarten. The delegation thanks the donors for their generosity and the volunteers for their availability. On September 6 and 7, several Haitian socio-cultural and religious organizations also set up a collection at Agrément, which made it possible to receive food, water, milk and hygiene products, given to an organization of the Dominique, Dutch side.
A radiothon at the end of the month
The Lions Club of Saint-Martin, Saint-Barthélemy and Sint Maarten are also mobilizing to support the victims. On September 26, from 9 a.m. to 13:30 p.m., members will organize a radiothon. The goal is to raise at least $ 30.000, which will be donated to the Dominica Lions Club.
