“I am very sad to learn of the death of Pierre Brangé who left us Wednesday evening. Pierre was a figure in our community; he worked for the territorial administration for sixteen years, demonstrating a flawless investment in the service of his island.

A lawyer by training, passionate about law and economics, Pierre was an expert in our organic law and the specifics of our territory; his expertise and knowledge of the files were particularly sought after and made him an essential part of the community.

He held several positions within the institution, where he held the position of deputy director general (DGA) of the economic development pole before becoming the chief of staff to President Aline Hanson in 2015. Pierre was a professional outside peer, and was also appreciated for his availability and good humor.

We will keep of him, the image of a brilliant man, cultivated, affable and good living, always ready to offer his contribution for the good of Saint-Martin. Pierre leaves a great void, his characteristic laugh will resonate for a long time in the corridors of the community and beyond.

My thoughts are with his mother Emilienne, his brother Jean, his partner Valérie, as well as his relatives and his many friends. I offer them my sincere condolences on behalf of the community of Saint-Martin, the elected representatives of the Territorial Council and all the territorial agents, all affected by his disappearance. Our benevolence and affectionate support accompany them in this difficult ordeal. "
