One thing is clear: the virus is still circulating in Saint-Martin! After a last case recorded on June 29, two new positive cases for Covid-19 have just been recorded on the French side.
According to our sources, the manager of a company located in Concordia tested positive for Covid-19. It was when he arrived last Wednesday at his hotel in Guadeloupe that the person was informed by the health authorities of having contracted the virus, following a control test carried out at the beginning of the week in Saint-Martin. The latter was immediately placed in solitary confinement in his hotel room.
According to the procedure, several people around him were forced to carry out a laboratory test at the end of last week. The results will be known within 72 hours.
All identified persons are followed for 14 days from the last contact with the positive test, to monitor any possible appearance of symptoms. If no symptoms appear at the end of this period, the health authorities conclude that the person does not have the virus.
Since the start of the epidemic, 45 cases positive for Covid-19 have been identified in the French part.
The battle is not over. Let’s continue to apply barrier gestures.
