For several weeks, two buildings of the Jérôme Beaupère nursery school in Sandy Ground have not been supplied with water, which poses problems in terms of hygiene; children cannot flush when they go to the bathroom or wash their hands properly when they have painted in class. "They are forced to call an adult to help them turn on the tap," said a parent.
Confirmed by the management of the establishment, the situation has lasted since October for one of the buildings. During a school council in November, the Collectivity, represented at the meeting, was informed, "but the technical services have not yet intervened," says the principal, who stresses that electrical problems are also recurrent.
In addition, the school staff are also waiting for the games for children purchased by the COM to be installed in the courtyard. "They were delivered but not installed," says the director. In October, a representative of the supplier came from Guadeloupe to explain how the base for the games' reception air was to be built and had warned that he would return the following month to install the games. A month later, he returned but was forced to store the games in a room in the school because the concrete slab had been poured the day before and was not dry enough to fix the games. Only one motorbike was placed in the TPS area (very small section).
Finally, the parents of pupils regret that the territorial police officers are not systematically (at the time of re-entry and exit) in front of the school to facilitate traffic, made difficult by the bus stored in the middle of the road at the level of the establishment.
