"Real equality overseas": Parliament adopts law

The bill "Real equality overseas" was finally adopted last Tuesday by Parliament. Ericka Bareigts, Minister of Overseas Territories, was delighted with this adoption. “Founding text, synonymous with justice and pride for each of our territories,” the minister tweeted. After the Assembly, the Senate therefore voted unanimously for this text, the objective of which is to reduce inequalities between the overseas territories and France. In addition, Senator Guillaume Arnell spoke in general discussion: “This text is not perfect, but it constitutes progress towards a little more balance between the territories of the Republic and towards more social justice between French citizens (…) a lot of work remains to be done. ” _EH
