Environment: The removal of abandoned vehicles is still in progress!

0

The passage of Hurricane Irma left almost 3000 vehicles out of use, however the number of wrecks is decreasing day by day.

The ELVs (end-of-life vehicles) littering the roads are still regularly removed, the Environment Brigade travels on the ground to identify and record the wreckage of vehicles abandoned on the public road; a service provider appointed by the Collectivity then takes the ruin to the Grandes Cayes eco-site where the vehicle will be collected and dismantled; in force with the law on ELVs, these vehicles must be depolluted, the materials sorted and treated, while used parts are sold to professionals.
