MISCELLANEOUS FACT: Philipsburg supermarket employee injured in the head during armed robbery


The Sint Maarten police force (KPSM) received several telephone calls on Tuesday March 19, around 13 p.m., reporting an armed robbery in progress in a supermarket in Philipsburg.

In response to these calls, several police patrols, detectives and forensic personnel were dispatched to the scene. Upon arrival, the preliminary investigation determined that two male suspects, dressed in dark clothing and in possession of firearms, had forced entry into the establishment and committed a burglary. Unfortunately, during the robbery, one of the suspects injured a store employee by hitting him in the head with the firearm. The victim was treated by ambulance personnel on scene and then transported to Sint Maarten Medical Center (SMMC) for further treatment. The Sint Maarten police are following all leads and all means of investigation to bring the perpetrators of this armed robbery to justice.
