Captain Mickaël Lecointre, commander of the Saint-Martin/Saint-Barthélemy Research Section (SRD) detachment, participated last week in the Caribbean International Intelligence Meeting, at the FBI premises in San Juan (Puerto Rico) .

This quarterly international cooperation meeting brings together representatives of the criminal intelligence services of the various police forces in the Caribbean, Canada and the United States acting in the fight against organized crime.

The opportunity to address the issues encountered by everyone in the fight against drug trafficking and irregular immigration, to develop contacts and exchange information.

The participation of the Research Section is fully in line with the desire of the gendarmerie command of Guadeloupe and the Northern Islands to develop international cooperation. Particularly with his Dutch and Anguillian counterparts with whom tripartite meetings will be organized on a regular basis in Saint-Martin between now and the end of the year.

Within the SRD of Saint-Martin/Saint-Barthélemy, an international unit has been set up. It is made up of four gendarmes.
