A major operation bringing together the services of the judicial police, the RAID, and the gendarmerie was carried out Monday, January 18 in several municipalities of Guadeloupe, making it possible to dismantle a vast international traffic in narcotics and large caliber weapons. 25 people were arrested.
The arms and narcotics, mainly from Saint Lucia and Saint-Martin, would have passed through Dominica or Antigua, before being transported to Guadeloupe.
During the numerous searches carried out by investigators, around 200 kg of cocaine were reportedly seized as well as several large caliber weapons. The investigation into international drug trafficking, money laundering and arms trafficking began a few months ago.
