0

On Tuesday, December 10, 2024, a crucial tripartite agreement was signed between the State, the Collectivité de Saint-Martin and the National Housing Agency (ANAH). Present were President Louis Mussington, Prefect Vincent Berton, and representatives of the ANAH by videoconference. This signing marks a turning point in the improvement of the private housing stock in Saint-Martin, an urgent need for the territory.

For several months, the Collectivité has been stepping up its efforts to fully exercise its Habitat Housing competence. In October, it developed its Local Housing Programme, thus laying the foundations for a sustainable strategy to address the housing crisis. This partnership with ANAH provides it with essential engineering support for the implementation of this policy. President Mussington stated that this agreement meets the expectations of the people of Saint-Martin, since housing is a fundamental need. Prefect Berton praised the commitment of the Collectivité and its technicians, describing their work as remarkable. The efforts of the ANAH teams were also publicly recognised. In conclusion, Louis Mussington emphasised the importance of this approach to overcoming local challenges. He thanked his teams, who are working with determination to build an ambitious policy adapted to the realities of Saint-Martin. _VX
