Cruise ship arrivals increased 4,6% at Pointe Blanche between January and April 2017, the port of Sint Maarten announced. 833.755 passengers via 324 ships set foot on the ground in four months. The destination is therefore still as attractive to travelers. In 2016, over the same period, the port recorded 796.957 passengers and nearly 1,7 million passengers over the year via 602 ships. For the low season, the arrival forecast is similar to last year. “We expect continued above-average occupancy on cruise ships. The size and occupancy of the vessel determines the actual numbers compared to forecasts, ”said Mark Mingo, CEO of the port. _EH
