A man residing in Saint-Martin was convicted by the court for having usurped the identity of a Marie-Galante man and defrauding Social Security. He managed to collect the retirement of the Guadeloupe craftsman and get treatment thanks to his social security for a total amount of more than 118 00 euros. The scam was discovered when Marie-Galante's man asked to retire; the CGSS replied that it had already paid him for several years. In Saint-Martin, the usurper wanted to recognize a child but he was arrested by the PAF. Unlike the Guadeloupean, he was unable to give precise information on his family to verify his identity. He was sentenced by the criminal court to two terms of six months' imprisonment for identity theft and fraud. (more details on www.soualigapost.com)
