The former player Jocelyn Angloma, who notably wore the jersey of PSG, OM or Torino FC, was named last Thursday coach of Guadeloupe by the Guadeloupe Football League.
Former French international defender Jocelyn Angloma, 52, has been named coach of Guadeloupe to replace Gérard Andy, the Guadeloupe Football League (LGF) announced on Thursday in a statement.
“Holder since July 2017 of the Football Coaching Certificate, having repeatedly worn the jersey of the Gwadas Boys then member of the technical staff (he was assistant to the coach, Editor's note), Angloma had all the qualities required to take the reins of the selection ”, underlined the LGF, which“ thanked for its investment and the work carried out since 2015 ”by Gérard Andy, who previously occupied this position.
Very invested in Guadeloupe football
The former defender from Rennes, LOSC, PSG, Marseille, Torino and Valence, born in Guadeloupe where he has been coaching for a few years, has 37 selections for the French team in the 1990s, as well as several with the Guadeloupe selection at the end of his career. He notably took the Gwadas Boys to the semi-finals of the 2007 Gold Cup, one of the only competitions that Guadeloupe can compete in, the LGF being affiliated with the French Football Federation (FFF) and not directly with Fifa.
“Since his return to the country in 2003, Jocelyn Angloma has continued to invest in Guadeloupe football, whether with the Etoile de Morne-à-l'Eau (his training club he trained in 2009 in 2015, editor's note) or with the league ”, further specifies the LGF.
