The Cité des Outre-mer, a project led by the city of Paris, the Ile de France region and the French overseas ministry, is finally a reality. This place intended to promote ultramarine culture is symbolically launched today in Paris, at La Villette. The President of the Republic François Hollande - who wanted the site to be opened by the end of the five-year term -, the Overseas Minister Ericka Bareigts and a large number of overseas elected officials are expected at this ceremony. The French overseas ministry, which has budgeted 10 million euros for this project, in its 2017 budget, has indicated that the work will start in a few months. The site is expected to house a performance hall, a business center and an exhibition hall.
