“All elections are important. Voting is a right and it is also a civic duty! For these legislative elections, the stakes are high. We will elect our deputy for the constituency of Saint-Martin and Saint-Barthélemy. It is very important that we are represented in the National Assembly by a person who knows the specificities of the two islands well. In low season, the tourist economy slows down. We need to promote the destination more during this period. It would also be good to review the amount of taxes on our electricity and water bills. They are way too high! We must improve the daily lives of residents. Life is getting more and more expensive.”

“To tell you the truth, I haven’t asked myself the question yet. I'm not very interested in politics. I don't trust the fine words of politicians. They always promise citizens wonders before each election. It's always the same old refrain. On arrival, promises are rarely kept.
Concerning Saint-Martin, it is high time to act for young people. We need to train more young people in many sectors of activity. Particularly in the hotel industry, catering, commerce in general, communication and many other sectors. Elected officials must be as close as possible to the population. It is important to take into account the needs of the inhabitants of the island, where their expectations are.”

“I intend to go to the polls this Saturday, June 29 and the Saturday after, July 6, for the second round. It is very important to fulfill your duty as a citizen, to express your opinion through voting. Everyone must feel concerned about the future of Saint-Martin. For this, we must elect our deputy who will defend our cause on the benches of the National Assembly. On a local level, there is a lot to do, particularly in terms of town planning. Too many premises are closed and abandoned. This does not give a good image of downtown Marigot. We need a law to force owners to maintain their property. It’s the image of Saint-Martin that depends on it.” Interview by AF
