Moralization of public life: the Senate adopts the texts

0

The senators adopted last Thursday the texts relating to the moralization of public life, reform desired by the President of the Republic Emmanuel Macron. Among the major measures, the Senate voted to abolish the parliamentary reserve, a state subsidy allocated to senators and deputies. A “transparent” allocation to support municipal investment should be the alternative. Subsidies should not exceed more than 20.000 euros per equipment project (only for rural municipalities). The texts concerning the moralization of public life will be sent to the National Assembly which will examine them next week. The parliamentary reserve represented 147 million euros this year. _EH
