On August 10, the FM band will have a new radio on 103,9, Energy. It will be the first local radio station to operate an internationally developed brand. "At the start NRJ is a French group which is established in seventeen foreign countries", explains one of the co-founders locally. "Sint Maarten will therefore be the eighteenth country where the brand is established," he said.
The radio will be broadcast from the Dutch side but can be heard on both sides of the island on the same station. A partnership has been created with Hi-Five Broadcasting NV, holder of 103,9.
Energy will target 25-49 year olds by offering the same format as the group elsewhere in the world. It will stand out by mainly offering new titles from international artists throughout the day. No presenter will be on the air.
