0

The action which took place on Tuesday October 17 in the morning was organized by the Saint Martin Santé association coordinated by the CPTS Saint-Martin. Students from a third grade class at Soualiga college, all dressed in pink, formed the pink ribbon, symbol of the fight against breast cancer.

Gathered in the courtyard of the school, the students worked to reproduce on a human scale the pink bow representing the month of the breast cancer prevention campaign, Pink October. At the end of the event, the various speakers spoke with the third grade class from Soualiga college who participated in making the pink ribbon. During this meeting, the students were able to express their perception of breast cancer, how the disease begins and manifests itself, its meaning, and above all, how to prevent breast cancer and how to stay healthy. Thanks among others to Chantale Thibaut, state-certified nurse and coordinator of the Professional Territorial Health Community (CPTS) of Saint-Martin and Celya Bridge, adapted physical activity teacher and CPTS coordination assistant, the students were made aware of the prevention, the practice of regular physical activity, at a frequency of one hour per day for young people in this age group, the need to adopt a balanced, healthy and varied diet, without forgetting the risks on health in case of tobacco and alcohol consumption. The Pink October prevention campaign continues until the end of the month, with various actions planned locally. _VX
