The criminal court of Saint-Martin will examine tomorrow fifteen cases exclusively related to looting committed after the passage of Hurricane Irma. The charges will be either theft or concealment of property from theft. Almost all of the thefts were committed on September 6.
Among the victims were individuals and shops located in the Bellevue area. The defendants are half of them from the Dominican Republic and aged at least forty years.
The hearing will start at 8:30 am and is public
Another hearing, that of January 17, will also be partly devoted to the looting cases after Irma.
