Senator Guillaume Arnell presented an amendment to the Senate earlier this week aimed at improving the tax exemption system in the tourism and hotel sector in Saint Martin, as part of the finance bill for 2016.
The presentation of amendment 439, to article 43 of the PLF 2016, was made with the agreement of the Taxation pole of the Collectivity and it was not finally adopted. “Saint-Martin will therefore not benefit from the increase in the rate of investment aid in the tourism and hotel sector provided for in article 199 undecies B of the general tax code in certain overseas communities, such as Mayotte or Guyana (at the rate of 45,9% increased to 53,55%), said Guillaume Arnell by press release, adding that this measure could have complemented very incentive measures taken by the Collectivity to free up the available land . ” The senator from Saint-Martin said he would continue to plead in the Senate for the adoption of a device more favorable to tourism and hotel investments in our territory.
