The makeover of the Omnisports hall in Galisbay will have lasted longer than expected. The soap dragged on but the result was worth the effort. Its opening is scheduled for late May 2016.

Better late than never ! After long months of waiting, the island's sportspeople will be able to enjoy a brand new new complex by the end of May. The objective of the work carried out was to supplement the already existing installations and to allow its future users to practice their disciplines within a modern infrastructure, secure and adapted to their needs.

A new parquet meeting the standards in force was installed, the lighting of the room is now equipped with LED bulbs, the changing rooms and the stands have undergone a serious facelift, the interior and exterior paintings have been redone, without forgetting a new outdoor area dedicated to Beach-Foot, Beach-Tennis, Beach-Volley and Beach-Rugby.

A nautical base will also be available to the Sports Association of the Collège Mont des Accords.

“After discovering the premises and finding their bearings, athletes can take full advantage of the new facilities available to them. It is now up to them to obtain the best possible results in the competitions in which they will participate throughout the season, ”underlines Alain Gros-Désormeaux, territorial adviser responsible for sports affairs.

Such a structure could indeed be beneficial for clubs in order to attract new licensees. It could also propel Saint-Martin to the fore thanks to the organization of high-level sports competitions. _AF
