As announced in our Thursday edition, the Council of State authorizes the Collectivity to introduce the levy of 30% on the base part of the RSA, thus rejecting the request of the former prefect. COM President Aline Hanson and Vice-President Ramona Connor reacted to this decision, which was announced on November 30.
President Aline Hanson and Vice-President Ramona Connor welcome this decision. This “shows that the solutions to the structural problems facing the community lie mainly in the use of the powers conferred on us by the organic law”, said the COM in a press release. The president and the vice-president also underline the merits of their strategy: “The RSA file shows that, unlike our predecessors, our majority knows how to use the levers offered by organic law: we have asked for and obtained a legislative authorization to reform the RSA and, at the same time, through an unprecedented tax measure validated at the highest level, we will succeed in containing, from the current financial year, the compulsory expenses linked to the financing of a social policy decided at national level and manifestly unsuitable for our territory ”. The COM services are therefore mobilized to enforce this decision.
