The airline company Air France started last Thursday between Paris and the West Indies the test of the solution for digitizing the results of Covid-19 tests "ICC AOKpass", which should allow it to verify this medical information in a secure manner and to streamline the journey customer at the airport.
Tested from March 11, 2021 and for four weeks between its Paris-Roissy base and Pointe-à-Pitre and Fort-de-France airports, the ICC AOKpass digital health certificate developed by MedAire / International SOS was chosen by the French national company but also Air Caraïbes, French Bee and Corsair. The test is carried out solely on a voluntary basis, "in order to test the operation of the application in real conditions and to collect the opinions of test customers", specifies Air France, which "will share this feedback" with the other companies in the SkyTeam alliance, "which are currently testing various solutions for digitizing health documents"
The mobile application, available on smartphones, allows passengers to securely record the results of their Covid-19 test carried out in a partner laboratory (AOKpass is a partner of many laboratories, including the Cerballiance and Biogroup groups in France).
Once at the airport, passengers present their smartphone instead of a paper test. The ICC AOKpass then verifies that the test presented is valid and complies with the regulations of the country of destination "via a network secured by blockchain technology".
