Last Monday, around 22 p.m., the Customs star DF 24 is at anchor in Marigot Bay.
A “MAYDAY” distress call is then broadcast to the VHF on channel 16 by the “BLUE OCEAN”, a 9 m long fishing vessel.
The boat is indeed drifting after an engine failure in the north of Dog Island, with 3 people on board.
The captain of the star DF 24 having immediately reported to the CROSSAG (Regional Operational Center for Surveillance and Rescue) his presence in Marigot Bay, the authorities requested the "Customs" to assist the "Blue Ocean".
Thanks to the rapid intervention of the Coast Guard star, the fishing vessel, with its three occupants on board, finally arrived safely three hours later on Saint Martin. Thank you "Customs"!_AF
