SINT MAARTEN: 222 new cases and 6 deaths

According to the bulletins released by the government of St Maarten 222 new cases of covid-19 were registered last week * in part Dutch. This brings the total number of people infected as of August 3 to 616.

Last week 6 new deaths were reported, bringing the number of people who died from covid-48 to 19; knowing that on Saturday, a 49th death was recorded.

Since the beginning of August, 846 people have tested positive partly Dutch, 871 if we count those counted on Saturday; i.e. almost 24% of cases recorded since March 2020.

On Saturday, the number of active cases was 312 (against 315 eight days earlier), 15 people were hospitalized in Philipsburg and 230 people are placed in quarantine because they have been identified as contact cases.
