SOCIETY: Gather, to advance reconstruction

0

Advance the reconstruction of Saint-Martin by bringing together. This is the intention of Saint-Martin Uni, an association born in October 2017, on the initiative of Cédrick André, its president.

Claimed as apolitical, the association brings together different players from the local economic world, and from Saint-Martin civil society in general. “We are here to make the link. There were lots of groups after Irma and we wanted to bring them together. Collect the information and restore it ”, advises Cédrick André.

The association, whose other vice-president is Patrice Seguina, recruited a project manager, Ewen Vallée, a student of law and European studies, the only employee at the moment. He makes the link between written production, the implementation of training, and works on many projects. "It is the transverse element" comments Taî Ghzalale. Saint-Martin Uni is also present in Brussels where France Hankart is also doing lobbying work for the association of hoteliers.

Its latest project, entitled "Boostering resilience", aims to support the actors of Saint-Martin in their strategies of resilience and sustainable development, also with a scientific dimension (identification of practices that can be duplicated elsewhere in the West Indies and the world). After two weeks of immersion and meetings in April, a three-year program was designed including training, seminars and micro-projects. (More details on www.soualigapost.com)
