The Saint-Martin community has mobilized to help the victims of Dominica. During a micro-pavement carried out in Marigot last Monday, we collected some testimonies and asked the following question: "What do you think of this outburst of generosity towards the Dominicans?
Jean-Philippe John, food merchant
“It is a good thing to help Dominica. He is one of our rare neighbors who supplies us with bananas and agricultural products that we do not produce in Saint-Martin. ”
Caroline Joseph, saleswoman
“Saint-Martin had to reach out in the face of this distress. The community and associations have come to the aid of the victims, but we must not forget the churches which have done some awareness-raising work on the side of the faithful. ”
Moses Lyris, shopping
“In areas like 'Ti Savane', the inhabitants have lost everything. We could not remain insensitive. I salute the solidarity of Saint-Martin and hope that life resumes its course as quickly as possible on this island. ”
As for the itinerant merchants, they tell us that the storm that hit Dominica had repercussions on their work. Indeed, it is becoming more and more difficult for them to find foodstuffs originating in Dominica. _KL
