St Barthélemy: End of tomorrow at the “St Barth Film Festival / Cinéma Caraïbes”

0

Firstth edition of the “St Barth Film Festival / Cinéma Caraïbes” has been taking place since the beginning of the week on the neighboring island. An opportunity for film buffs to discover exceptional films and directors from the Caribbean basin, and even beyond. The festival's guests are film directors, producers and professionals closely linked to cinema and Caribbean culture in the broad sense.

Cuba is in the spotlight this year with three films from very different genres: Sin Alas (Without Wings), sensual and nostalgic fiction and the first American film entirely shot in Cuba since 1959; Cuba Libre, historical film on the end of the Spanish-Cuban-North American War in the 19thth century seen by two young adolescents, produced and produced in Cuba; and Havana Formell, the documentary tribute to Juan Formell, founding father of the legendary group Los Van Van, who left us in 2014, with a 45-year career. A big closing party is organized tomorrow evening to celebrate the end of the 21st edition of the “St Barth Film Festival / Cinéma Caraïbes”. _AF
