Sint Maarten Prime Minister William Marlin on Thursday afternoon told Governor Eugene Holiday that his cabinet was resigning after a motion citing lack of confidence in himself and six out of seven ministers was voted by Parliament on the same day.
William Marlin also presented a draft decree to dissolve Parliament to the governor who accepted it. The Parliament of Sint Maarten will therefore be dissolved on January 31, 2018 and elections will have to be held to reform it.
For William Marlin, this is a Democratic Party maneuver prepared for months. "Sarah Wescot-Williams wants to be Prime Minister again and although it costs the people, she used all means and used the passage of the hurricane to get there," he comments. (source: www.soualigapost.com)
