St. Maarten: eight months suspended prison sentence for false bomb threat

The Sint Maarten court sentenced KJC, 29, to eight months suspended prison sentence and two years probation for launching a false bomb threat on May 27, 2017.

KJC had called the Sint Maarten police via 911 and said that a bomb was on board a plane belonging to the JetBlue company which operated between Boston and Juliana airport.

The defendant was also sentenced to 240 hours of community service (TIG). Failure to do so will result in an additional 120 days in prison every eight months, suspended. KJC also has two years to pay a fine of 4500 NAf (approximately $ 2520).
