It was Alain Muzelec, from Météo France's meteorological center in Guadeloupe, who provided details during the preparation meeting for the new hurricane season at the Hôtel de la Collectivité, last week: “13 phenomena are expected, including six hurricanes and two major hurricanes. ” On this occasion, the specialist drew up a cyclone report for 2015, mentioned the impacts of cyclones - landslides, wave breaking, heavy rains - in pictures, and exposed the different levels of vigilance (yellow, orange, red, purple and Grey). Météo France sends the alerts to the prefecture. Recently, the State services have equipped themselves with a call machine: this device thus makes it possible to quickly send information and messages, particularly by SMS, to the actors concerned. The hurricane season will kick off on June 1 and end on November 30. From now on, the Collectivity invites the population to prepare for a possible phenomenon.
