A few days before Christmas, the streets of Marigot and the seaside were crowded yesterday. As for the Fort Louis marina, a nice surprise too: the mega-yachts did not hesitate to drop anchor in the French part.
Cruise ships are also present in our waters. This morning, a delegation from the Tourist Office and the port establishment will welcome the “Ocean Princess” for its first stopover, in Galisbay. It is one of the small ships of the American shipping company Princess Cruises, according to the agency. On this occasion, the director of the port Albéric Ellis and the president of the Tourist Office Jeanne Rogers-Vanterpool will unveil their partnership agreement. The “Star Legend” from Windstar Cruises is also anchored in Marigot Bay.
A paid promotion
According to the 2014 activity report of the Tourist Office, presented during the last Territorial Council, the members of the institution participated in thirty fairs around the world, including Top Resa France, Los Angeles Adventure show and the Seatrade Cruise Convention. Last year, the agency in partnership with the Galisbay port establishment joined the Florida Caribbean Cruise Association (FCCA). A significant increase in the number of cruise passengers has been observed from Florida, according to the data in the report.
