The epidemiological situation of the Zika virus in the Northern Islands indicates probable clinically suggestive cases. In recent months, reinforced surveillance has been put in place in the Antilles and Guyana.
Last Saturday, the Regional Health Agency (ARS) of Martinique launched an alert on an active circulation of the Zika virus: 12 cases have been confirmed, as well as 150 suspected cases. Regarding the Guadeloupe archipelago and the Northern Islands, no case of Zika has yet been biologically confirmed, mentions ARS Guadeloupe / Northern Islands. Nevertheless, clinically suggestive cases have been identified. “Blood and urine samples were taken. The results of the analyzes are pending, notes the agency. There are thus two possible cases in Guadeloupe, three in Saint-Martin and one in Saint-Barthélemy. ” The epidemiological situation of Zika in the Northern Islands corresponds to level 1c of the surveillance, alert and management program for arbovirus epidemics (Psage): no proven indigenous viral circulation with viral circulation in Martinique and Guyana.
