The new young girl promotion from the Development Division of the Northern Island Volleyball League (LVBIN) recently completed its first internship at the Galisbay gymnasium.
No less than 12 girls made their debut by perfecting the practice of volleyball for 6 hours a day with a break for lunch. The reception and defense themes have been much worked given the past where the team has fished at a high level, especially in Puerto Rico and Fort Lauderdale.
“The results of the internship are positive during which there was a good atmosphere. The players showed real motivation. All have good potential to be exploited in the coming weeks, ”underlines the coach. With this in mind, the ASCL club and the future young girl selection of the LVBIN will leave from July 25 to August 6 for a sporting and cultural volleyball stay at the Academy of Orlando - Tampa in the USA.
Let us not forget that during their first participation in 2014, the young girls' selections (U18, U20) were crowned champions of the ECVA (East Caribbean Volley ball Association) area. Did you say great performance?
Jean-Luc Lezin, the coach of the Pôle Féminin, would like to thank all the protagonists, the staff of the Pôle Développement (Myrtha Lezin, Franck Legras and Jeff Pierre) who have been contributing to the success of the Pôle Féminin for a few years.
2017 will also be the year of many challenges to be met: the title of female U20 champion to be retained and access to the 3rd round of the NORCECA confederation zone World Championship for women and men. In preparation for their advanced training course in the United States, young volleyball players count on the support of local businesses to make ends meet. They deserve it! _AF
