Thursday March 19 of this year in the middle of the day, GF sets fire to one of the lolos located on the seafront in Marigot. The firefighters arrived on the scene, quickly the start of the fire was brought under control.
The gendarmes will open an investigation and identify GF, a Saint-Martinois thirty-six years old, thanks to a testimony.
GF recognizes his actions. He justifies them by the fact that SD, one of the victims with GR who operate the premises, owes him more than 3 euros. He would have done undeclared and unpaid work by SD.
At the end of GF's police custody, the prosecutor issues a summons to him before the Saint-Martin local court; he appeared on Thursday June 18.
At the helm, he maintained his explanations. Examined in the meantime by a doctor, he was not recognized as an arsonist.
GR, the other victim, was also present at the hearing to act as a civil party. Not being covered by insurance, it cannot be compensated.
GF was sentenced to twelve months in prison, suspended for two years, with obligation to care and compensate the victims. They must present documents enabling the damage to be assessed, this part of the case was remitted on civil interest in September. (soualigapost.com)
