Which orientation to choose after the bac? How to finance his studies ? For many high school students, higher education is fraught with pitfalls. To answer their questions, several Saint-Martin students will share their experiences within the framework of the “Project SXM” which will take place on Saturday at the CCISM from 14pm to 19pm.
“The concept is to bring back around twenty students and especially young professionals, who have gone through the polyvalent high school of the Northern Islands and who have continued their higher education elsewhere, for an afternoon of awareness-raising in the management of studies superior ”, explains Samia Khalfaoui, co-founder of Pelicarus, the association of young people from Saint-Martin based in mainland France, who joined this project. The target audience for this event is primarily junior high school students, but the association encourages first graders to attend.
Here is the program for the day at the CCISM:
From 14 p.m. to 14 p.m.: reception and objective of the event
From 14:15 p.m. to 15:15 p.m .: personal presentation of each candidate
From 15:15 p.m. to 16:15 p.m .: presentation of 4 themes on student life:
- prepare for departure abroad and arrival in the city of study (study wishes, accommodation, post-baccalaureate site, etc.);
- finance their studies after the baccalaureate (Crous scholarships, Community scholarships, etc.);
- the advantages / opportunities of student life (studies abroad, services offered by the University, etc.);
- the difficulties encountered during student life and how to overcome them (financial, academic, expatriation, etc.).
