Despite difficult sea conditions and a single marlin hanging on the gantry, the 20th edition of the 2017 Saint-Martin Billfish Tournament XNUMX by Delta Petroleum had a new popular success in front of the Fort-Louis Marina with the unquestionable victory of the boat "Yellow Whip" !

Twenty-four boats participated, from June 21 to 24, in the 20th edition of the Saint-Martin Billfish Tournament won by the crew of Laurent Petit, captain of the boat "Yellow Whip".

The biggest catch on Day 1 was a 451 lbs marlin caught by Stephen Petit, aboard the Yellow Whip. Unfortunately, the last two days of fishing were not successful, with billfish pointing to absent subscribers. There are days with and days without ”, underlines Laurent Petit, president of the“ Saint-Martin Sport Fishing ”Association and winner of the tournament for the second time after 2012.“ We encountered difficult sea conditions, with many grains of a beautiful intensity. Now I can assure you that many crews fought great battles on the famous "Marlin Boulevard". Hence the large number of releases recorded during the three days of the tournament.

As for taking marlins, we will try to do better next year! "

The large audience, present every evening in the village in front of the Fort-Louis Marina, appreciated the atmosphere that prevailed throughout the three days of the competition.

Congratulations to the organizers, musicians, and to the “Caribbean Favors” Association for the “Gril & Pot” Food Festival which made it possible to highlight the many local culinary specialties!

See you now in June 2018!  _AF

Are these the organizers ??? I go there every year, and it's getting worse and worse… there are almost never any fish. If in addition it is a scheming, I will set foot again ...
